Bursting at the seams.

It was standing (and sitting on the floor)-room only at Tuesday night’s rammed SCAC drawing session as most of the regulars were joined by an unexpectedly large number of newcomers and occasionals (including my daughter Chloë). A certain amount of the usual zen-like atmosphere was inevitably sacrificed to the throng and I reckon my concentration level suffered as a result but it did make for a very jolly couple of hours in the pub afterwards with the usual suspects being joined by fellow illustration stalwarts Phil Dobson and Peter Greenwood and creamy graphic designer Nigel Spall.

The bar-staff at Wetherspoon’s are far too polite and modern to use a hackneyed old phrase like ‘haven’t you got homes to go to?’ but the question was implied somehow and, at around 1am, we dispersed into the Brighton night.

Here are a couple of iPad drawings I made of the evening’s model, Greta.
